Dr.Sotos Theory makes one think! - HerbS - 10-21-2012 04:01 PM

Thank you Roger for having Dr.Sotos bring his theory to light. After reading his book-"The Physical Lincoln"on-line,it does make you think about it.How many other forum members agree or disagree with his theory? With me,"the jury is still out".

Herb, I agree with you. I think the jury is out. Originally I didn't put much credence in it. MEN 2B is associated with a limited life expectancy and muscle wasting. Lincoln was 56, had lost some weight, but still appeared strong at the end if the ax story (discussed in another thread) of April 8th, 1865, is true. Also, Dr. Curtis, who was at the autopsy wrote, "I was simply astonished at the showing of the nude remains, where well-rounded muscles built upon strong bones told the powerful athlete. Now did I understand the deeds of prowess recorded of the President's early days."

I have Dr. Sotos' book, and he makes some interesting arguments and observations. I certainly commend him on his book. Lots of close-up pictures of lips, hands, etc. I was also glad to see that Dr. Sotos writes that Lincoln did not have Marfan's. I agree with that. I still doubt his MEN 2B diagnosis, but I am certainly not an expert, and I will say the jury is out. I hope Dr. Sotos can find sufficient DNA that can answer this question once and for all.
