During my research, I found out that Lincoln is still loathed. Loathed by today's so called "progressive" and Political Corectness Advancers. You know, the ones who will find excuse to ISIS and such, because they are "the new damned of the earth" as there is no more Western working class and the middle class is shrinking.
Their grudges against AL?
"He was a white male over 50" even WORSE "of poor white direct ascent" the ones who are told to stay quiet and pay the moral debt of past sins of slavery and colonization ad vitae eternam.
"The Sioux Uprising 38", while deliberately vanishing the other side of the story, is that he pardoned more than 200.
Once I tried on a French PC site to reply that they didn't knew the whole context, and tried a comparison. I said "Imagine white French citizen, angry against Sub Saharian and Northern Africa immigration going to a diversified suburb, and killing people in their homes out of fear of their invasion" I was just told to go back to bed with Hitler and such!
"He didn't care about the slaves and was just a Rothschild puppy" OK so what about the greenbacks?
"He was a dictator".... OK with a Congress, opposition, who never closed a paper for personal criticism against him, only because some tried to dismantle the war effort..
(based on the habeas corpus, but it sounds more like a 19th version of a state of emergency measure. We had it for a while after the 2015 Paris attacks)
The fact is, in today's victim card and culpabilisation society, they just can stand early big progress were performed by the new Enemy of the People, aka the White Man (and the Jew, the White Woman, the Straight, the Westerner, the Christian...).
How do you feel about it?

Lincoln has always had his “bashers”-and probably always will. Those who study Lincoln must weight carefully what their opinions will be. And those viewpoints may change. Many do not want to take the time to be knowledgable about him. We live in a “soundbyte” world.”

Again, I am exposing the back of my neck with this comment, but I fear that Lincoln - along with many of our great leaders from the past - is a target that is being pushed to the sidelines of American history in the current movement to claim that other Americans of a particular ethnicity did all the work in building this country. You should spend a week working with me...

Dear L. Verge, I certainly know what you mean. For us it's North Africa descendants who know claims our whole history is only a litany of felonies and that they alone build this nation and they alone freed us from Nazi occupation. And of course, we the majority of European ascent french citizens have only to bow to them, otherwise it's "racism". Again, I'll gladly join you to the gallows (or a guillotine!)

Yes. I too have been very aware of what you’re talking about. Not good.
And just this afternoon, I have been in a comment section fight over Lincoln, under YouTube video "Lincoln's untold stories" It's very tasty. Apparently Lincoln is aligned with the KKK, and as a Lincoln admirer, I'm a Nazi sympathizer, no less!
