I cannot recall the source, but I once read there are 130 known photos of Lincoln.....90 with a beard and 40 without.

In recounting Custer in "Custer in Photographs" by D. Mark Kantz, I counted 147 distinct photographs of Custer (not repros, doubles or cropped editions), and I had cut out and pasted a early dag that showed up post publication, which makes 148. I believe there has been one other found since then for 149. So, Custer may be the second most photographed American of the 19th century. I'd like to figure out final counts for Lincoln (I wonder how many have included the photo of him in his coffin?) before tackling Douglass.
