Hoax DNA tests - Steve - 06-18-2018 12:54 PM

While this doesn't have anything to do with Lincoln, I think it's still a news story about a scam worth sharing with the forum. Also, I think it's humorous.

A Canadian man submitted a DNA sample from his girlfriend's pet chihuahua, Snoopy, as his own to a DNA testing company. The results came back with Snoopy having a 20% Native Canadian ancestry!

What a hoot or howl! Wonder how they explain that definite Spanish dialect when Snoopy barks? LOL.

A quick follow up to the story, Snoopy isn't the only dog to have his DNA tested. In April the NBC affiliate in Chicago reported on having a Labrador retriever named Bailey tested by a DNA company which was unable to tell she was a dog. The company said "her muscle force would probably be great for quick movements like boxing and basketball, and that she has the cardiac output for long endurance bike rides or runs".

(I was planning to use my free time today looking more into the Montreal - Confederate - Booth angle but somehow ended up focused on this!)
