I have just learned that Thomas J. Craughwell, author of "Stealing Lincoln's Body" had passed away on June 13 at the age of 61.

If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Craughwell's writings, and I am, here are a few articles he has written from a
conservative web site The American Spectator.

He has appeared twice on C-Span with videos on Stealing Lincoln's Body and the Baltimore Plot

I am heartbroken to hear this! Tom spoke at our Surratt conference several years ago when Stealing Lincoln's Body was published. He was an excellent speaker, both in historical knowledge as well as the ability to relate it in a manner that kept the audience enthralled.

Sorry, folks, but I am really tired of losing the good ones in this world too soon...

I remember the only time I talked with Mr. Craughwell on the phone some years ago. I told him that the gravesite of Charles L. Willey (1865=1944) is located at a cemetery in Coquille, OR.
