Excellent memory, Susan! Kudos. Yes, several years ago we had a discussion of whether the man on the right (second floor) in this photo was Louis Weichmann (in the building where he worked - Office of the Commissary General of Prisoners). An enlargement leads one to wonder; no 100%
conclusion was reached although most folks felt there was a definite resemblance.

Hint #1: He was at Ford's Theatre the night of the assassination.

William Withers Jr (orchestra leader) ? (after he'd had his mustache shaved off, maybe)

RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 03-23-2018 06:55 AM

Good guess, Michael, but it's not Withers.

Joseph Hazleton when Older....he was a programme boy at Fords -

RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 03-23-2018 01:44 PM

Kudos, Betty! Yes, it is an older Joseph Hazelton. He was the program boy at Ford's. He handed programs to the Lincoln party as they entered the theater. Earlier in the day John Wilkes Booth had talked with Hazelton in front of the theater. He later became an actor himself. Apparently he was a believer in the "Booth escaped" theory.

If you scroll down you will find an obituary for Hazelton here:

Keep scrolling down on that same link until you see an article about John Parker, the so-called bodyguard that night. You will see a photo claiming to be Parker taken from FindaGrave. Except, I don't believe it is Parker.

Right, Laurie - it's Ward Hill Lamon.
