By now, we all have heard that this is being proposed. Do you agree with it?
Who do you think worthy candidates would be?
I have been asking friends. Harriet Tubman has been mentioned several times.

A few ideas of worthy candidates -
Rosie the Riveter, representing the hard working women of America who rose to the challenge when their country needed them
War time nurses - A picture of three nurses of different time periods, emphasizing their service and compassion to the wounded and dying.

I really like your ideas Gene. I guess if I had to choose one person then Tubman would get my vote.

I'm leaning towards two -- Clara Barton as a symbol of worldwide humanitarianism and Susan B. Anthony or Elizabeth Cady Stanton as the advance guard for women's rights. Helen Keller would please me also. I'm trying to think of women whose work has had the greatest, positive influence on the U.S. and the world.

What about the "First Lady of the World" Eleanor Roosevelt?

How about Dr Mary Walker, first woman to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor? I also like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Clara Barton, Laurie.....

Bill, although I cannot yet decide on my personal favorite, I think it's a wonderful idea.

I recently saw an online poll about this, and Eleanor Roosevelt was leading.

Eleanor Roosevelt would be a great choice in my humble opinion.

How about all three? It would be a "creative" tribute.

Harriet Beecher Stowe?

RE: Female on the 10 Dollar Bill - Juan Marrero - 06-25-2015 11:15 AM

A good and safe choice--Emily Dickinson, America's greatest poet.
