Thanks, Eva. The key was here. I googled the weather for a bunch of European cities, and the closest to what you posted was Lisbon.

Major's Hall in Bloomington, Illinois, where Abraham Lincoln gave his Lost Speech in 1856.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - Eva Elisabeth - 12-18-2016 06:58 AM

Excellent guess, Roger, but, sorry, not correct.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - RJNorton - 12-18-2016 07:26 AM

St. Lawrence Hall in Montreal where John W. Booth stayed.

Another outstanding idea, Roger, but not correct either.

Hint#1: You are right as for the kind of facility.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - RJNorton - 12-18-2016 09:56 AM

I am clueless - the National Hotel in Washington?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - Eva Elisabeth - 12-18-2016 10:11 AM

Another excellent guess, Roger, but, sorry, not in Washington.

Hint #2: It's in one of Lincoln's "homestates". (It was - since turned down in 2005.)

Is this the place (after some extensive renovations) located in Franklin, Nebraska

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - Eva Elisabeth - 12-18-2016 11:32 AM

Another outstanding research, Gene, but not the place either. To clarify - "homestate" was supposed to mean that Abraham Lincoln had lived (not just boarded) in the respective state.

Hint #3: Members who especially lately followed the forum attentively and thoroughly are much in advantage.

Hint #4: Abraham Lincoln and another protagonist were said having stayed there at least once.
