RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - J. Beckert - 12-13-2016 07:34 AM

Sorry, Roger. It's not Quesenberry's house.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - J. Beckert - 12-13-2016 09:41 AM

Hint # 1 - AKA Isaac Smith.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - J. Beckert - 12-13-2016 10:53 AM

Hint # 1.5 - it's rumored to be haunted.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - RJNorton - 12-13-2016 11:09 AM

The "haunted" Granbury Opera House where John St. Helen may have performed.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - J. Beckert - 12-13-2016 11:36 AM

It's in the East, Roger.

Hint # 1.75 - the town it's located in is the site of an important event that precipitated the war.

In Baltimore?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - J. Beckert - 12-13-2016 12:27 PM

Not Baltimore, Eva. One state west of there.

Does it have to do with Powell?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - L Verge - 12-13-2016 01:17 PM

Is this the farm house outside of Harper's Ferry where John Brown launched his famous raid? Not sure of its current name - even though I have been there! Is it called the Kennedy Farm? I believe that it is in Maryland, just across the border from WV.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - J. Beckert - 12-13-2016 01:46 PM

It doesn't have to do with Powell and Laurie is half way there. It's in Harper's Ferry.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - RJNorton - 12-13-2016 02:12 PM

The haunted Hilltop House Hotel.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - L Verge - 12-13-2016 02:13 PM

I was going to say Hilltop House, but it is chiefly of brick construction (which doesn't show in your photo), so my next guess will be the Guest House for the NPS. It is supposed to be the most haunted place in Harpers Ferry. Is Isaac Smith (aka John Brown) supposed to have a tie to this place - or is haunted the key?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - J. Beckert - 12-13-2016 02:30 PM

AKA Isaac Smith was just to narrow it down to Harpers Ferry. John Brown has nothing to do with it. It's not supposed to be haunted by anyone in particular, that was just a small clue. The house now has a very familiar name.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - Thomas Kearney - 12-13-2016 03:13 PM

The John Brown Wax museum or the Kennedy Farm

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - L Verge - 12-13-2016 03:13 PM

There is Harper House there, but I'm just guessing. Stonewall Jackson had a headquarters there in 1862, so Stonewall Jackson Hdqrts?
