This one went fast. You will need the little rest as I believe tomorrow's will be another hard one (but you may prove me wrong).

Thanks for giving all three of us the credit for correct answers. I'm sure that the Lincolns' kitchen stove was wood burning. I have read that it was the man's duty to keep the stoves stoked, but that Mary had to do it because her husband was away so much of the time. There's an article online that I will never find again about what a good housekeeper and mother Mary Todd Lincoln turned out to be after a childhood of being pampered.

If you haven't found it yet, this site is a great one for up-close photos of the various rooms in the Springfield home. Hope the wild mixture of wallpaper and ingrain carpeting hues and patterns doesn't give you a headache!

This is Kuhscheiße!! How can three people all get a point on the same question?!! I even used Laurie's answer to Google my answer! That would have been sweet justice for her ruining my Titus Ridgway trivia question years ago!! Something that still bothers me....

Anyway...great job, Eva! The tension is palpable this year. Im looking forward to the next 10 day's chances to redeem myself....

Thanks, Joe! I'm glad you enjoy it (despite some suffering).
Ready for another round? Voilà. What hides behind behind #16?

Looks to me like it might be in the South. Is it in the South?

I second Gene - thanks, Laurie!

Very smart, Roger - yes, it is!

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - J. Beckert - 12-15-2015 07:27 PM

The roof vents made me think of was in the south, also. Is that Ward Hill Lamon's home?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - Eva Elisabeth - 12-15-2015 07:33 PM

Brilliant guess, Joe, but, sorry, this was not Lamon's house.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - RJNorton - 12-15-2015 07:33 PM

The Abraham Lincoln Museum is located in Harrogate, Tennessee. It's on the campus of Lincoln Memorial University. Is this a historic house on the grounds of Lincoln Memorial University?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - Eva Elisabeth - 12-15-2015 07:35 PM

I am so delighted as for all the outstanding guesses in this "contest" - this is another one. I am sorry to say this is not correct either, Roger.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - RJNorton - 12-15-2015 07:37 PM

Mary Lincoln was in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1875. Is this the historic house where she stayed?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - Eva Elisabeth - 12-15-2015 07:39 PM

Outstanding again, Roger (I tried to find that one to no avail) - I am sorry not correct either.

Hint #1: Again I will answer yes/no questions.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - J. Beckert - 12-15-2015 07:45 PM

Owned by a historic figure?

Alexander Stephen's home in Georgia?

The First White House of the Confederacy in Alabama

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - L Verge - 12-15-2015 08:36 PM

Oh darn! The Yankee found it while I was googling.

I'm right behind you now, my little Rebel pal....
