Mon Lisa Is Missing - Jim Garrett - 11-21-2014 08:32 PM Since most here enjoy all things historical, I highly recommend a documentary on Netfix, and probably available elsewhere. Mona Lisa Is Missing is a brilliantly written story of the theft of da Vinci's masterpiece in the first part of the last century. The documentary asks the primary question, why? Joe Medeiros travels to Italy to meet the daughter of the man who stole the Mona Lisa. We follow Joe through Italy and France to answer the why and many more questions. Since Joe was the senior writer for Jay Leno, you can well imagine the story is told with no small amount of heart and humor. RE: Mon Lisa Is Missing - Rsmyth - 11-22-2014 07:58 AM I am going to watch this documentary since this is truly a fascinating story. Italy did not believe Vincenzo was a thief but a patriot bringing the painting home. Many, erroneously tought the painting had been taken to France by Napolean. |
