Lincoln's Pocket Watch - Gene C - 10-24-2014 12:32 PM This was an article in Yahoo news today. Somehow this subject seems familiar http://mashable.com/2014/10/23/abraham-lincoln-watch-secret-message/ RE: Lincoln's Pocket Watch - LincolnToddFan - 10-24-2014 08:00 PM It's certainly a beautiful pocket watch...thanks Gene! RE: Lincoln's Pocket Watch - L Verge - 10-25-2014 09:52 AM This link has much better photos than other pieces I've seen on the Lincoln watch. RE: Lincoln's Pocket Watch - Jim Garrett - 10-27-2014 07:26 AM The watch is the Rolex of it's time. While we have come to believe that AL was a humble man of simple trappings, that certainly was not the case with MTL. She made sure her husband had the finest things available. His suits were beautifully tailored, his boots were custom made, he had all the best. RE: Lincoln's Pocket Watch - HerbS - 11-05-2014 09:25 AM I wish that I had his or an antique watch! RE: Lincoln's Pocket Watch - Steve - 08-23-2018 01:19 PM There's a new video about the pocket watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aB-wiSlG_jw (note: Lincoln's watch is only discussed for about the first 4 minutes of the video - it then turns into an advertisement for some modern watches) Here's a link to the original 2009 Smithsonian article about the watch: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/lincolns-pocket-watch-reveals-long-hidden-message-57066665/ RE: Lincoln's Pocket Watch - LincolnMan - 08-24-2018 05:15 AM I think that may be the watch that was actually used in the Lincoln movie (2012)? I remember reading that the ticking heard in the film was from Lincoln’s timepiece. |
