That's amazing. It's a good still pic of him-seems to catch the somberness of the man.

The wonders of make-up! Want to bet that this is the last shot we see of Lincoln in the movie? He's got that pensive look like he's now ready for "the ages."

Absolutely fantastic!! I can't wait to see the movie.

"Get ready to see Lincoln drink the South's milkshake this fall." I haven't had my morning coffee yet- what does that sentence mean? It's from the article on the movie Laurie linked to.

???? Huh

I haven't the foggiest what this means!

Betty: I'm glad you said that. I thought maybe I was dense or something!

I did a little research on Google. Daniel Day-Lewis says, "I drink your milkshake," in There Will Be Blood so it must be another way of saying that the South murdered Lincoln.

Definitely NOT a mid-Victorian "Milk Punch!" Big Grin

Incredibly well done! Wow! Can't wait to see the film. Here is another longer article about Day-Lewis and the film:

Great! Thanks for the fantastic article, Kate! I can't WAIT to see this one - the attention to detail which Spielberg put into this is phenomenal! It's sure to pick up some Oscars....

I also want to remind folk to be sure and watch for Killing Lincoln on the National Geo Channel in February of 2013. The ONLY similarity between the movie and O'Reilly's book is the title!

I had the pleasure of working with the screenwriter, director and producer on this as did Laurie and others and I must say that this is one of the most accurate and beautifully filmed versions of the assassination I have ever seen.

That looks like a painting. He's a very good actor. I do hope this movie is better than Speilberg's last attempt.

RE: Spielberg's Lincoln - LincolnMan - 08-08-2012 11:10 AM

What was his last attempt?

Super 8. At least that was the last one I watched and I wasn't impressed. I hope he's back to form with this one/.
