Dr.Mary Walker's thoughts on Mary Surratt's Execution - HerbS - 04-28-2014 08:24 AM

I have been trying to find Dr.Mary Walker's thoughts about Mary Surratt's execution for the last 3yrs.Dr.Mary Walker being from Oswego,NY[50 miles from here] was unique to say the least. She was at the Trial and Execution of the Conspirators. Her biographer and Oswego County Historian knew nothing about this.Syracuse University, told me that in her Manuscript Collection, she does not talk about Mary Surratt. Then someone suggested that I move my research to Newspapers.Yesterday,I found a quote from Dr.Mary Walker about Mary Surratt's execution.New Haven Register-July- 18-1865."Mary Surratt's hanging was nothing less than murder".
