I Met Booth Yesterday - L Verge - 04-12-2014 11:58 AM

Mr. Booth had an appointment yesterday to tour Surratt House, videotape some interior and exterior shots, and conduct an interview. When he walked into the Visitors' Center, he did not have to introduce himself. Otherwise known as Montgomery Sutton, this young man comes more to looking like JWB as anyone else that I have seen - including Jesse Johnson from the recent "Killing Lincoln." To make things even better, he was very friendly and fun to talk with.

Mr. Sutton is writing and producing a play entitled "I Am Myself Alone." To accompany the production, he is also working on a web documentary - hence his visit to Surratt House. And, as I am starting to fade into the background, I asked my staff member, Lindsey Horn, to do the interview. Hopefully, in the near future, I will have more to report.

That sounds wonderful, Laurie!

Please tell us more; if there is a web site, etc.

There is a website, I believe, because Lindsey checked him out (for looks) before agreeing to do the interview. I've got to teach that child to look for other qualities also.

I went to his website. He is strikingly handsome- very easy to see him as Booth. I didn't see any photos of him as Booth.

I don't think that he has started to publicize his project, but I did see a one-liner about him preparing for it. In real life, his hair is as near to black as one can get, and that includes his eyebrows, mustache, and the sparse beard that he currently has. His hair is also longer now and has a natural curl - especially "the little curl in the middle of his forehead...and when he was bad he was horrid." There is also a natural curl at the nape of his neck. And the eyes are very dark and very expressive.

Here is a good site which shows Sutton as Booth - and yes, he's wonderfully handsome and definitely has "The Look!"

Just received this from Mr. Sutton re: a Dallas presentation:

I wanted to share with you the press release for the play, in case you had any interest to read. I'll send along any other promo stuff that comes out, too -- and obviously links to the web documentary when that starts to go online, hopefully beginning around May 20! We've been in rehearsals for about a week and a half and this is going to be a pretty spectacular show, I think. One of the best casts and scripts I've ever worked with.

More news about Mr. Sutton and the Booth play in Dallas:

Another nice piece of press (with a photo this time) that I thought you might find interesting:

The Headline says the production will bring "fresh insights" into JWB. Wonder what those will be?

I've just found this interesting video by Mr. Sutton. He's done a great job researching his part.

Did you see the second video that has him delivering a monologue of the "To Whom It May Concern" letter? Very well done.
