I am pleased to report that David Keehn's book on the Knights of the Golden Circle is slated for publication by LSU next spring. I'm trying to help him get it out in time for the Surratt Conference.
I also want to thank Tom Bogar, a member of this forum, for putting me in touch with Dr. Kenneth Heinemann of Texas, whose book on the Thomas Ewing family will be published in December. I immediately recruited Dr. Heinemann as the sixth speaker for the Surratt Conference next March. Thomas Ewing, Jr., of course, was the defense attorney for conspirators Mudd, Spangler, and Arnold and also assisted Frederick Aiken and John Clampitt with some of their work defending Mary Surratt.
Now we need to get Wes Harris's work on the assassination-related weapons to the presses.
