Lincoln Memorial University Exhibit - L Verge - 01-17-2014 10:12 AM

Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, will be bringing a special exhibit to Washington, D.C. for a six-month showing. Entitled "Abraham Lincoln and the Technology of War," the exhibit explores the significance of many inventions and new machines implemented during the Civil War.

It will be on display from February 11 through July 6, 2014, at the Ford's Theatre Center for Education and Leadership, which is across Tenth Street from the Theatre. An opening reception on February 10 is by invitation only.

The museum there at Harrogate is wonderful. If you have never visited there, it's worth the trip. Not far from there is the Cumberland Gap- where Lincoln's ancestors crossed through on the way to the "dark and bloody ground."
