Happy Thanksgiving!
October 3, 1789
"Following Congress' recommendation, President George Washington issued a proclamation naming Thursday, November 26, 1789 as a day of public thanksgiving, the first time Thanksgiving was celebrated under the new Constitution."
This is an interesting article describing how some of our presidential families celebrated Thanksgiving on a specific date. It's a great source for Thanksgiving trivia questions.

Sebastiao Albano, a forum member who lives in Brazil, sent Thanksgiving wishes to all in 2014. I am re-posting his card here. Sebastiao told of his unforgettable journey here. He told us a little about his life here.

Thank you, Sebastiao!

Roger, thank you for reposting Sebastiao's moving accounts of how he came to know and love Lincoln.
It's a powerful story.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all.

Although we don't celebrate it over here in France, it didn't stopped me to try baking the famous Pumpkin pie yesterday morning.
A good way to kill hours while I'm spending the second lockdown at my mom's.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to everyone!! I do hope that everyone had a very safe and happy weekend. With COVID spreading in my state, I stayed home and had a very quiet but cozy day just watching movies and enjoying the day. I ordered in and just chilled out. It was all very relaxing and safe!

Happy belated Thanksgiving - we don't celebrate it either, neither in Austria nor Germany (in Germany we celebrate it end of September when the crops comes in), but in Austria this year family gatherings aren't even allowed, and there's a curfew from 6PM till 6 AM (not so in Germany). What about France, Mylye?

Mass gathering isn't allowed either here. We are on partial lockdown since 28th October (schools and workplaces are operating part time, and since a week ago, non essential shops are open again), this until 15th of this month, when lockdown will be changed for a curfew from 21 pm till 7 am until 20th of January. 20% of French population now suffer from reactional depression.
