RE: Assassination Trivia - L Verge - 09-06-2013 09:19 AM You are quite right - B Street is now Independence Avenue and runs behind the Mall. Tenth Street and Independence would be approximately where the Forrestal Building is as part of the L'Enfant Plaza federal complex. It is sort of diagonally across town from where Betty and Mike used to park while conducting research. I'm not going to ask what they were researching while parking.... RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 09-09-2013 04:55 AM Hopefully this will be a challenge. A person whose name is part of the overall Lincoln assassination saga died June 28, 1926, and is buried in Hampton National Cemetery, Hampton, Virginia. Who is he? RE: Assassination Trivia - Rsmyth - 09-09-2013 08:50 AM Jacob Rittersbaugh - Sorry Roger, but this was right up my alley. RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 09-09-2013 08:55 AM Right on, Rich! I figured you might know this one. Many years ago I wrote Mike Kauffman seeking the proper spelling of the man's name. Mike was incredibly helpful and added much information in his response. He even mentioned that the guy who arrested Ned Spangler is actually buried in the plot next to Ritterspaugh. RE: Assassination Trivia - Rsmyth - 09-09-2013 09:29 AM Mike knows where everyone is buried. Who arrested Spangler? RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 09-09-2013 09:55 AM According to what Mike told me Pvt. Sidney Raymond made the actual arrest of Spangler. Mike wrote that the two men (Raymond and Rittersback/Ritterspaugh) are buried only 3 or 4 feet apart. There is yet another spelling....Rittersbach.... here. RE: Assassination Trivia - Rogerm - 09-09-2013 10:40 AM "Rittersbach" is probably the original German spelling of the name, with everything else a variant of it. RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 09-24-2013 11:37 AM Who is this man? RE: Assassination Trivia - Dave Taylor - 09-24-2013 12:44 PM (09-24-2013 11:37 AM)RJNorton Wrote: Who is this man? Joseph Sessford RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 09-24-2013 12:56 PM You win, Dave! Sessford was the ticket seller at Ford's the night of the assassination. You win one ticket to one concert. Your only choices: (1) Justin Bieber (2) Miley Cyrus (3) The Four Seasons. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons singing Sherry
RE: Assassination Trivia - Dave Taylor - 09-24-2013 01:00 PM The Four Seasons, gladly. The other two are obviously punishments for an incorrect answer. Who is this? RE: Assassination Trivia - L Verge - 09-24-2013 01:50 PM John J. Hughes of Indiantown Farm RE: Assassination Trivia - Dave Taylor - 09-24-2013 02:02 PM (09-24-2013 01:50 PM)L Verge Wrote: John J. I've never heard screeching like that in my life. |
