Is the person Osborn Oldroyd?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - J. Beckert - 12-09-2016 08:18 AM

He's not, Roger and he's famous for a different reason.

Hint #1 - irony is heavy on this one.

Never before seen photo of Michael O'Laughlen waiting to meet Booth outsides Ford's Theater to pick up the tickets Booth promised him, the day of the assassination.

.....I want to congratulate Joe and Eva for this wonderful thread that generates so much enthusiasm. Smile

Nice try, Gene, but this was taken over a century later. And thanks for your kind words!

Well it looks like a picture from the 70's or 80's. So I will guess it is of a young Mike Kauffman? Though that doesn't seem very ironic...

Maybe it's of a guy named Lincoln?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - RJNorton - 12-09-2016 08:39 AM

President Gerald Ford?

According to Tom Bogar's book, American Presidents Attend the Theatre, he was the first President to attend a production at Ford's after the 1968 reopening.

John Hinckley Jr. outside Ford's Theater days before the Reagan Assassination attempt.

Son, it looks sort of like Mr. Hall, or part of him.

All good and logical answers, but Thomas nailed this one! It's the wanna be Presidential assassin, John Hinckley, Jr. Nice job, son. You now vault to the lead position.

I have to ask where you found that answer, Thomas. I never remember seeing that photo. Good job.

To keep with the Advent Calendar's idea of showing pictures, here you go:
