RE: Assassination Trivia - BettyO - 06-26-2013 04:33 PM He's NOT a Powell, I'm sure..... Is it Sergeant Dixon? Ed Issac's great Grandfather? OR..... a Mudd descendant? RE: Assassination Trivia - Dave Taylor - 06-26-2013 04:40 PM None of those, Betty. Try a descendant that you've met in the last couple years. RE: Assassination Trivia - BettyO - 06-26-2013 04:41 PM A Garrett?! RE: Assassination Trivia - Dave Taylor - 06-26-2013 04:45 PM Nope. The man pictured above had a role in the trial. RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 06-26-2013 05:05 PM Could it be John W. Clampitt? RE: Assassination Trivia - BettyO - 06-26-2013 05:19 PM Aiken....? But I believe you've got it, Roger! Clampitt..... RE: Assassination Trivia - L Verge - 06-26-2013 05:20 PM I have seen a similar photo and it has to be Clampitt. Betty would have met his descendant at the Aiken tombstone dedication. I spoke with the descendant by phone a few days later, and he promised to visit or send Clampitt materials. So far, nothing... RE: Assassination Trivia - Dave Taylor - 06-26-2013 05:41 PM Indeed it is John W. Clampitt. This picture comes from the cover piece of his book, "Echoes from the Rocky Mountains". Well done. RE: Assassination Trivia - Dave Taylor - 06-28-2013 11:51 PM While I'm sure this will be an easy one, who are these two gentlemen? RE: Assassination Trivia - Dave Taylor - 06-29-2013 05:44 PM Hint 1: One of these men is an assassination author. RE: Assassination Trivia - BettyO - 06-29-2013 05:48 PM The man on the right is Oldroyd? RE: Assassination Trivia - Dave Taylor - 06-29-2013 05:51 PM (06-29-2013 05:48 PM)BettyO Wrote: The man on the right is Oldroyd? Why yes it is. How about the man on the left? RE: Assassination Trivia - BettyO - 06-29-2013 06:25 PM He looks awful familiar.....let me think....is it Oliver Barrett? RE: Assassination Trivia - Dave Taylor - 06-29-2013 06:30 PM Nope. Hint #2: The man on the left was born on Lincoln's birthday. RE: Assassination Trivia - Linda Anderson - 06-29-2013 06:59 PM Henry Riggs Rathbone? I remember posting a picture of him in front of the Peterson house and noting that he was born on Lincoln's birthday. His photographs on Google look very similar to the gentleman on the left. |
