I'll add that Betty is the one of most generous people in the field of Lincoln Assassination researchers that I've met. She is always willing to share information and always answers any question I ask her, not just about Lew Powell but about other Civil War related topics I need to know about.

Thank you, Betty. My story would not be the same without you.

Happy birthday, Betty!
Allow me to say to you what Butler James respectively Mr. Pommeroy says to Miss Sophie in "Dinner for one":
"Happy New Year, Sophie [Betty] gal! ...You look younger than ever, love! By gum, you look younger than ever, luv, younger than ever!"

Ooh no..... I see the Avatar gremlin has struck again....!!

Thank you all so very, very much. You are all more than kind. It has been a delight to know each and every one of you - it's a blessing. I love the forum and all of my forum friends.

Betty is definitely a friend worth having - and keeping - whether close by or via the miracle of the internet. She will kill me for this, but I have known her for forty years; and she is a wealth of knowledge on many subjects related to the 19th- and early-20th century.

The wonderful thing to me is that she is largely self-taught, not having started college until middle age and then quickly earning both her bachelor's and her master's degree back-to-back. I would bet that her professors learned a lot from her about our period in history. Betty is a voracious reader -- and as you all can attest, dearly loves to share. She is also a ball of fun to be with...

Happy Birthday, dear friend.
