Is it a place Lincoln visited?

The Seward home?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - L Verge - 12-20-2015 06:34 PM

Is it farther north than Pennsylvania?

Good idea, Roger, but sorry, the place is neither Stanton not Ohio-related.

No, same latitude.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - Thomas Kearney - 12-20-2015 06:37 PM

(It wasn't clear this previous reply was to Laurie, and it also goes for Thomas' last to last question.)
No. (Not to my knowledge, and I think this would be a well known incident.)

No - not in Pennsylvania.

Hint #2: It's correct this was a person's home.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - Thomas Kearney - 12-20-2015 06:42 PM

Is it in Maryland?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - L Verge - 12-20-2015 06:42 PM

In Indiana or Illinois?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - J. Beckert - 12-20-2015 06:43 PM

White House Landing, Va. “White House on the Pamunkey,” residence of Gen. W.H.F. Lee, and headquarters of Gen. George B. McClellan

A rear view of Stephen A. Douglas's birthplace in Brandon, Vermont?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - Eva Elisabeth - 12-20-2015 06:44 PM

Outstanding ideas, Thomas, Laurie, and Joe, but it's in neither of of those states.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - Thomas Kearney - 12-20-2015 06:44 PM

I'm going with Joe on this one!

Birthplace is a correct guess, Roger, but it's not in Vermont either.

Hint #4: There's a strong symbolic hint in the last photo.

That must be it, but Eva told me it was not farther north than Pennsylvania.,,

Home associated with Walt Whitman - if he's the one that wrote about lilacs blooming.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar - Thomas Kearney - 12-20-2015 06:49 PM

Yes! It's the home of Walt Whitman!
