RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - Rob Wick - 11-08-2012 05:36 PM I love that site. Best Rob RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - LincolnMan - 11-08-2012 07:24 PM Uploaded with ImageShack.us I bought the Volk Lincoln Life-mask years ago from the Lincoln Museum in Ft. Wayne. My wife added the glasses for fun. She says it reminds her of the picture of Lincoln with his son (wearing glasses). RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - Joe Di Cola - 11-09-2012 09:55 AM Looks a little like C3PO! RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - LincolnMan - 11-09-2012 08:21 PM You're right! LOL RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - Gene C - 11-09-2012 08:42 PM Did they close the museum in Ft Wayne? I visited it once several years ago, it was nice. That's a face of a man that has been through a lot of difficulty, and the face of a man that didn't give up. I always thought the masks were cool, but the eyes always weirded me out! RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - LincolnMan - 11-09-2012 08:47 PM Gene: Yes, the museum is closed. It's collections were distributed to various museums and universities. It was so sad that it closed. Yes, the eyes (or lack of?) always is a little spooky! RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - LincolnMan - 11-12-2012 03:16 PM I also have the replica of the life-mask from 1865-quite a difference between the two. Lincoln greatly aged in those 5 years. RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - LincolnMan - 11-13-2012 05:28 PM Ok, this would NOT be a Lincoln collectable: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1800s-Era-Tintype-Photograph-Image-Abraham-Lincoln-/300815987978?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item460a07b50a RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - Gene C - 11-13-2012 10:16 PM I wonder what the provenance is on this? RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - RJNorton - 11-14-2012 05:06 AM Here's one that was really making the rounds several years ago. RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - LincolnMan - 11-14-2012 07:08 AM Roger, at least the one you posted looks more like Lincoln. The current one from the link I posted is obviously not Lincoln-doesn't look like him at all. Gene: I asked myself the same thing. RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - LincolnMan - 11-17-2012 09:04 PM I thought I'd share this with you all. My son Nathan drew this for me! It is free-hand. I'm blown-away! He is not finished with it yet. I plan on framing it and placing it in my Lincoln room. RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - RJNorton - 11-18-2012 05:52 AM Bill, KUDOS to Nathan!! RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - LincolnMan - 11-18-2012 05:56 AM Thank you Roger-and good morning. Nathan certainly made my day. RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables! - Rob Wick - 11-18-2012 01:33 PM At first Bill, I have to confess I thought that was a tattoo. Your son is a very talented artist. Great job! Best Rob |
