This may be too easy.

Living so close to DC, I seldom watch anything related to politics, but the man in this photo looks like Kiefer Sutherland, and I found that he plays in a series called Designated Survivor. So, I'll guess that one.

That has to be the old classic from my teenage years, North by Northwest, as Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint are chased through Mount Rushmore.

Yes - possibly my favorite Hitchcock movie (German title translates to "The Invisible Third").

It was on TCM last night. I watched it for the umpteenth time!

Correct. Can't get anything past you Laurie. I am 0-2.

I remember movies up until about a decade ago. The last time I went to a real movie theater was to see Finding Nemo with my grandson. That's pathetic, isn't it?

Maybe a little, but it sounds so sweet. I think the last grown up movie that Kristi and I went to was Cinderella Man. After that, the kids were born and it has all been Disney or Pixar since.

You are absolutely correct, Laurie. Vicki and I never miss the show. But they are taking a long midseason break - the episodes do not resume until February 28. (ABC - Wednesdays)

RE: Sherlock Holmes and a photograph of Abraham Lincoln - David Lockmiller - 03-20-2018 12:19 AM

(11-19-2017 11:38 AM)David Lockmiller Wrote:  I was watching the movie "Sherlock Holmes and the Pearl of Death" this morning when I noticed in the background of the scene at 221-B Baker Street a framed photograph of President Abraham Lincoln.

I was watching tonight on PBS, Ken Burns' story on Jackie Robinson. At one point in the presentation, there was a photograph of Branch Rickey and and Jackie Robinson shaking hands shortly after Jackie Robinson signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Ken Burns has this habit of panning across photographs with the movie camera. When he did so with this photograph, the camera moved out and to the right from the two shaking hands to show a photograph of President Lincoln high on the wall of Rickey's office behind the two men.

Branch Rickey on Jackie Robinson: "God was with me when I picked Jackie. I don't think any other man could have done what he did those first two or three years."

Jackie Robinson on Branch Rickey: "Branch Rickey did more for African Americans than any white man since Abraham Lincoln."

Here is the photo of President Lincoln that David mentioned was on the wall in Branch Rickey's office:
