Take care Jim!

Thank you one and all for such a great outpouring of love, concern, prayers and positive feelings. Robin (wife) and I met with the team yesterday and came away with a very positive outlook. I will have a modified radical mastectomy and removal of all lymph nodes on the right side. After the pathology report comes back, we will determine the next coarse of action.

I will be going to Gettysburg this Saturday (25th) for the generational walk of Pickett's Charge, with Robin, kids and grandkids.

I just received a beautiful card from Eva. Thank you much. I go in for surgery this Thursday and should be home same day. I'm looking forward to getting this process started.

I absolutely second Roger!

Glad you got it - I expected the card to take some weeks to arrive (if at all)!!!!! Jim, I'll always thank you for the unforgettable visit at Ford's Theater you and Tom (Bogar) made possible for me!!!

Jim, knowing you like I do I can believe that! I'm glad that this is being dealt with promptly and one thing's for sure: You have a bunch of people sending positive vibes your way, and that has to be a good thing.

Of course, once this is all over and done with, I may have to kick your butt for making me worry so about you, but we'll deal with that issue later.

Here is an update on Jim from Rich Smyth:

"Jim' s surgery went great and he is now on the mend - chemo & radiation to follow."

RE: Jim Garrett - Jim Garrett - 07-31-2015 07:31 AM

Thank you everyone for all the prayers and positive thoughts. The surgery went exceedingly well and I'll be back to my old self (minus a small body part) in no time at all. While I am a little sore, I'm very happy to be in the place I'm in, with lots of love from family and friends, and obviously each one on the site is included.

My love to all of you, and especially Rich, Roger, Betty, Laurie and all who have private messaged me. I have to say that Roger has put together a site that truly has brought together a wonderful group of people.

BTW, I love the card Dave. What sites are we going to check out this weekend? Smile

Wonderful, Jim!

We love you - and are so glad that this is over for you - you remain in our thoughts and prayers!

Good to hear surgery went so well! As for chemo etc., Lincoln would say "And this, too, shall pass," speedily I pray, and ad optimum.
