Great news Salvadore! Thanks for keeping us updated.

Fantastic!

I would love to see this if it premiers in Richmond VA or vicinity - otherwise, I'll simply buy the DVD - which I know I will anyway!

Thanks - the trailer is extremely impressive - LOVE the integration of the period photos into the background!

How does one go about getting tickets to this particular showing of the movie (with you and Harold Holzer)?

There will be a special screening of Saving Lincoln, free to the public, at the Old Naval Hospital in Washington DC on Feb 12, and I don't have to tell the members of this list what that date is! See http://hillcenterdc.org/home/programs/1136

What a perfect duo this production on Saving Lincoln and the one on Killing Lincoln should prove to be in the historian's world. Best wishes for a very successful opening and run, Ninabeth and Sal. Don't forget to let Surratt House know about any DVDs when they become available.

Hello friends,

Our movie "Saving Lincoln" opens today in 16 cities! For locations and showtimes, please click here:
http://www.savinglincoln.com/screenings.html

Here are some reviews of the film:
http://honeycuttshollywood.com/saving-lincoln-review/
http://www.hollywood.com/news/movies/55001248/saving-lincoln-better-than-lincoln

Please come out this weekend to see it if you can and help us have a great opening! Unlike all the other Lincoln films, "Saving Lincoln" was made independently with a micro-budget (700K as opposed to Spielberg's 100 Million) - but it is the only Lincoln film to tell the entire story of Lincoln leading the Union to victory in the Civil War.

If you are not near a city where the movie is playing, don't worry! You can now bring "Saving Lincoln" to a theater near you. We will soon be announcing our partnership with Tugg more publicly but for now we're letting a few of our friends know about it so they can start requesting screenings at a theater near them. You not only get to host the screening and take a piece of the box office just for getting your friends to join you, but you also get to be a big part of this film's theatrical release!

We will keep you posted on Tugg screenings. Thanks in advance for your support!

- Nina Litvak, screenwriter, "Saving Lincoln"

RE: Another Lincoln Movie - Liz Rosenthal - 02-17-2013 01:21 AM

My husband and I got back from the 7:40 showing of Saving Lincoln at the Quad Cinema in NYC, the one that had Salvador Litvak and Harold Holzer taking questions from the audience afterward. We were able to congratulate Mr. Litvak on his (and his wife's) excellent achievement, and say hello to Harold Holzer, too. Both of them were extremely accessible and seemed like thoroughly nice individuals.

I'm really pooped right now (it's 1:05 a.m.), but just wanted to say that the movie is definitely worth seeing if you have the opportunity. Saving Lincoln is a unique take on our 16th president, told through the eyes of Ward Hill Lamon, Lincoln's occasional law partner on the circuit back in Illinois and Abe's devoted bodyguard in Washington DC. The "cinecollage" cinematography is almost spooky in its ability to take you back to that time and to many of the scenes and situations that have become familiar to those of us who are fascinated with the subject of Abraham Lincoln.

By the way, many audience members seemed genuinely moved by the movie. One fellow sitting in the row ahead of us had tears rolling down his cheeks. I hope the filmmakers are able to obtain a wider release for Saving Lincoln.
