RE: Extra Credit Questions - RJNorton - 12-06-2023 05:32 PM Nobody has it yet. Hint #1: Think of a profession which you might not like to visit. RE: Extra Credit Questions - Anita - 12-06-2023 06:03 PM A dentist! Lincoln saw a Dr. French for a tooth ache. RE: Extra Credit Questions - RJNorton - 12-06-2023 07:28 PM Congratulations, Anita. It is indeed Dr. Amos W. French. There is a historical marker devoted to Dr. French: https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=48621 RE: Extra Credit Questions - RJNorton - 12-07-2023 06:24 PM What is the full title of the book Marilyn Monroe is holding? Who was the author? RE: Extra Credit Questions - Anita - 12-07-2023 08:02 PM I know the author is Carl Sandburg. The book title is a guess based on the photo. Lincoln Collector- The story of the Oliver R. Barrett Lincoln Collection, or Lincoln - A picture story of his life. RE: Extra Credit Questions - RJNorton - 12-08-2023 05:17 AM Anita, you are on the right track. You got one correct...The book's title is Lincoln: A Picture Story of his Life. Good job. However, the book's author is not Carl Sandburg. RE: Extra Credit Questions - Gene C - 12-08-2023 07:03 AM The author is Stefan Lorant. It's a very nice large, coffee table size book. Lorant was a talented photo journalist. I'd consider this a "must have" book about Lincoln. It's worth a little bit more to search to find a good quality copy. RE: Extra Credit Questions - RJNorton - 12-08-2023 07:16 AM Kudos, Gene. You are correct. RE: Extra Credit Questions - RJNorton - 12-13-2023 08:06 AM A person mentioned frequently on this forum lived here. Whose house was this? RE: Extra Credit Questions - Gene C - 12-13-2023 09:36 AM Robert Lincoln ? RE: Extra Credit Questions - RJNorton - 12-13-2023 01:31 PM You are correct, Gene. Kudos. It was Robert's home in Chicago. The Lake Shore Drive home was built in 1893, and Robert lived there for 18 years. The address was 1234 N. Lakeshore Drive. Here is a another photo of that home: Here is a photo of the den inside Robert's home: RE: Extra Credit Questions - RJNorton - 12-15-2023 05:05 PM No googling please. The Lincoln Catafalque was constructed to support the casket of the assassinated President. Lincoln's body lay in state in the Capitol Rotunda. Since then many people have lain in State or in Repose on the Lincoln Catafalque. After Lincoln who was the second person to do so? RE: Extra Credit Questions - Anita - 12-15-2023 08:06 PM Was it a Senator? RE: Extra Credit Questions - RJNorton - 12-16-2023 04:09 AM You are on the right track, Anita, but he was not a senator.
