Kudos, Gene! That was Robert Lincoln's home on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago from 1893 to 1911.

If it's who I think it is, my son used to lived within walking distance of this home. I've walked my son's dog by this home.
The person in question led a very interesting life, and was a man of many talents serving in the military, prestigious political positions, and an accomplished writer.

Several states contributed funds for the original construction of the Lincoln Tomb. Illinois' donation of $50,000 was the highest. The next best was $10,000. Which state contributed that amount?
