Article written by Evelyn Taylor titled "A New History of New Salem" "Comparisons between Thomas and Di Cola may be inevitable, and the casual reader may well find Di Cola’s book more satisfying." Words to be proud of, Joe! RE: Kudos to Joe Di Cola - he has written another book! - Anita - 03-11-2019 12:48 PM Great review of Joe's book. Thanks for posting Gene. I own a copy and it's my go to reference on Lincoln's New Salem. RE: Kudos to Joe Di Cola - he has written another book! - Steve - 03-11-2019 03:12 PM Congratulations on your book Joe! Thanks for posting the review, Gene. RE: Kudos to Joe Di Cola - he has written another book! - LincolnMan - 03-12-2019 09:56 AM This is very exciting! I do treasure that trip so much! Congrats Joe. Congrats Joe. I’m looking forward to reading it. Gene-congrats to you also! Bill, I hope this finds you and Donna well. You have been missed on subsequent trips which have included Lincoln, IL, Mount Pulaski, IL, and--my favorite--the cemeteries of Menard County. Gene and I are attempting to get something together for this May and, in the fall, the Charleston, IL area where Thomas and Sarah Lincoln settled and had several farms. While I was composing this, Gene called and told me that you broke your arm. Ouch! I hope you are on the mend! All the best, Joe RE: Kudos to Joe Di Cola - he has written another book! - LincolnMan - 03-13-2019 09:34 AM Yes Joe. I slipped on ice and broke it badly- three breaks. I’ve already had surgery. Again, congrats on the book! RE: Kudos to Joe Di Cola - he has written another book! - Anita - 03-13-2019 05:33 PM (03-13-2019 09:34 AM)LincolnMan Wrote: Yes Joe. Anita RE: Kudos to Joe Di Cola - he has written another book! - Rob Wick - 03-13-2019 08:48 PM Bill, Sorry to hear about your accident. Anita's right. Now you'll have enough time to read Joe's wonderful book AND have an excuse to do nothing but (not that I ever let that stand in the way of my reading). Take care. Best Rob RE: Kudos to Joe Di Cola - he has written another book! - Steve - 03-13-2019 11:18 PM Get well Bill. RE: Kudos to Joe Di Cola - he has written another book! - LincolnMan - 03-14-2019 05:40 PM Thank you everyone. It’s my dominant arm! Interesting how it goes when when you can only use one arm- and the nondominant one at that! |
