RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 08-02-2017 Nope, he is not connected with John Surratt. RE: Assassination Trivia - Eva Elisabeth - 08-02-2017 Did he have to do with Mary Suratt? Or Atzerodt? RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 08-02-2017 Nope, he was not connected with Mary Surratt or George Atzerodt. RE: Assassination Trivia - L Verge - 08-02-2017 Connected with Dr. Sam Mudd? RE: Assassination Trivia - Steve - 08-02-2017 Does the source you used for the image have a date for it? By the man's clothes, I was thinking it dates from at least a decade earlier. Anyway for my next guess... John W. Wharton, the employer of Arnold? RE: Assassination Trivia - J. Beckert - 08-02-2017 Henry Burnett? RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 08-03-2017 Thanks for trying everyone, but no one is correct. Steve, the photo is undated in the book where I found this photo. I believe the author probably got the photo from a descendant, and it's possible the family does not have a date for it. Hint #4: The book which has the photo when the man was older has been previously mentioned on the forum. This book was written by a member of this forum. Hint #4.25: In one previous guess, the right conspirator was mentioned in the post, but the person guessing did not ask if this were the right conspirator. Hint #4.5: The book where I found the photo for this question has been previously mentioned on the forum. Hint #4.75: The man in the photo has been previously mentioned on the forum. RE: Assassination Trivia - Gene C - 08-03-2017 Would the person pictured have supported the Confederacy? RE: Assassination Trivia - Eva Elisabeth - 08-03-2017 Is Herold the respective conspirator? Do you refer to Kathy's book? Or Tom Bogar's? RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 08-03-2017 Gene, Wikipedia says the person was a Union supporter. Eva, no, no, and no. RE: Assassination Trivia - L Verge - 08-03-2017 Wild guess, but Parson Lemuel Wilmer? RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 08-03-2017 Nope, not him. Hint #5: The book (written by a member of this forum) that has the photo of this man when he was older has been mentioned in one of the previous wrong guesses for this question. RE: Assassination Trivia - Gene C - 08-03-2017 Is our mystery man connected to the Seward family or Lewis Paine/Powell? RE: Assassination Trivia - RJNorton - 08-03-2017 Gene, yes, the connection is to Lewis Powell. RE: Assassination Trivia - Dave Taylor - 08-03-2017 It's Rev. Abram Gillette, Lewis Powell's spiritual advisor. |
