Nat Geo to adapt Killing Reagan - Thomas Kearney - 06-22-2016 07:16 PM

Killing Reagan, the book where nobody was killed, is being adapted into a TV movie by Nat Geo. Tim Matheson will play President Ronald Reagan, Cynthia Nixon will play Nancy Reagan, and newcomer Kyle S. More will play John Hinckley Jr. Book co author Bill O'Reilly will also have a small role. The film is set to air in late October. O'Reilly gave a first look at the movie by showing pictures of the main actors in their role on Tuesday's episode of The Factor. Of the sneak peek I've seen, only More and Nixon look like the real people:

Killing Reagan has been given the premiere date of October 16th at 8/7 Central on Nat Geo. The trailer has been released and the TV movie event looks like a promising addition to the Killing Movies on Nat Geo. Check it out:

If I remember correctly, Reagan survived.
So what's with that title?

Hinckley could play himself - since he is going to be set free.

Here is a side-by-side of Hinkley and Kyle S. More who plays him:

The shot that hit President Reagan was the most incredible stroke of bad luck. It hit the President through a very small window of vulnerability between the door and frameof the back door of the limo. Just a few inches of unprotected space.

I don't know what other Forum members think but I don't think anyone that has attempted to kill a president should be set free.

I agree 100 %, Bill.....

Insane or NOT - he should remain where he is.... that's one of the major things wrong with our country nowadays - too much Freedom is not a good thing!

If you do the crime - you should do the time!

RE: Nat Geo to adapt Killing Reagan - Gene C - 08-09-2016 06:56 AM

Agreed. He will be going to live with his mother, who must be close to 90.
Feel safer now? Confused

Gene, the title is a way for O'Reilly to bring in money. As for Hinckley, just put in some extensions and voila! Yours truly could have played him. As for his living arrangements, Who knows what will happen once JoAnn Hinckley dies?
Bill, as for freedom of would be assassins, Squeaky Fromme was freed shortly after Susan Atkins died

Roger, If I recall correctly, there is a picture of Hinckley outside Ford's Theater NHS a few days before the assassination attempt.

Wonder what the Reagan family thinks?

Bill, Reagan's adopted son with Jane Wyman, Michael, wrote a touching editorial about forgiveness:

Good article. Forgiveness is one thing. Letting him go free is another.

Wasn't Brady's eventual death ruled a homicide?

Bill, yes it was. But he was not charged.
