Worst Seat in the House - LincolnMan - 06-21-2015 03:32 PM Anyone familiar with the book by Caleb Jenner Stephens? The full title is: Worst Seat in the House: Henry Rathbone's Front Row Seat of the Lincoln Assassination. RE: Worst Seat in the House - RJNorton - 06-21-2015 03:51 PM Bill, Caleb (username: calebj123) is a forum member, and there is a thread about the book here. This year Caleb came out with a second book entitled The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln: An Illustrated Account of America's First Murdered President. RE: Worst Seat in the House - LincolnMan - 06-21-2015 05:16 PM Sorry I missed that previous thread. I just purchased it for my I Phone. Can't wait to listen! RE: Worst Seat in the House - RJNorton - 06-21-2015 05:23 PM You will enjoy it, Bill. It's really a fascinating book. RE: Worst Seat in the House - LincolnMan - 06-21-2015 05:55 PM Just listened to the first chapter- wow! Just when tou think it has all been said. RE: Worst Seat in the House - LincolnMan - 06-28-2015 09:30 AM Does it strike anyone as odd that Rathbone married his step-sister? RE: Worst Seat in the House - Eva Elisabeth - 06-28-2015 09:33 AM (...especially his older step-sister...) RE: Worst Seat in the House - Wild Bill - 06-28-2015 01:55 PM In the book, Caleb investigates the notion that PTSD affected Rathbone's life. It is pretty good and interesting RE: Worst Seat in the House - L Verge - 06-28-2015 05:21 PM Caleb spoke about the book at our 2014 conference and gave a good explanation as to why Rathbone might be diagnosed with PTSD in today's medical world. That kind of "presentism" I approve of... RE: Worst Seat in the House - LincolnMan - 06-28-2015 07:17 PM Yes, and he speculates that early trauma like the loss of his father set the stage for later vulnerability to PTSD. RE: Worst Seat in the House - Eva Elisabeth - 06-29-2015 05:43 PM Re.: " Rathbone might be diagnosed with PTSD in today's medical world" - certainly, I just wonder if it had saved Clara's life. One often reads of similar tragedies that had been foreseeable but unless something really happened there had been no way to interfere as the perpetrator hadn't agreed on any treatment etc. Lincolnman Bill, I'd like to learn what you think on this?
