Happy Birthday Forum!
July 4th will be our 2nd Anniversary.....
Thanks to Roger, for giving us a wonderful, informative and scholarly site/meeting place! We're learning and teaching every day in an informative and fun "virtual classroom." Strong friendships and camaraderie has grown and we're lucky to be a part of this wonderful experience - so..... "The Past is a foreign country...they do things differently there" - L. P. Hartley |

Yes, Rich, your next book...
You don't know how much this forum has meant to me. With few exceptions, we have become a virtual classroom on Lincoln studies, Victorian culture, and Civil War history. I am amazed at the amount of talent that we have among our members. Long may we post! |

RE: Happy Birthday Forum!
In a few days the forum will be 4 years old.
Interesting to think that the forum and its members are apart of history and Lincoln's Legacy. We are having fireworks downtown at the river front to celebrate! Since Dixie (a.k.a. Fido) doesn't care for fireworks, we may just spend the evening at home eating ice cream, howling at the moon, and chase lightning bugs. The joys of summer. Happy Anniversary! So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Happy Birthday Forum!
Amen!
Speaking of lightning bugs...our local news had a clip about a man in one of the D,C, suburbs who missed his lightning bug adventures as a child. He took a portion of his lot and converted it into a lightning bug habitat with the tall grasses, etc. that they love. The photos were phenomenal with thousands of lights all blinking. It almost looked like the heavens had brought their stars down to earth. |
