Just a linquistic note: "Mist" in German has a completely different meaning than it does in English. In the context that Eva used it, it is an expression of frustration.
Something wonderful happened to me last week: an anonymous gift-giver sent me a STEINBACH LIMITED NUTCRACKER-LINCOLN. It came to my workplace. Wow! Very expensive, by the way.
Bill, what an amazing surprise gift! I checked it out and yes they are pricey but so wonderful. Which one do you have?
I wish my knees could get me down the steps to my family room on the lower level. I think I have the $400 one sitting on my TV there! I have had it for years, but I won't be selling it anytime soon.
That is what this cost!
Neat, and so appropriate for (to?in?) the season. Obviously they were never sold in Germany
Eva: ecen though they are made in Germany?

Yes - weird. Look awesome! And he indeed had some hard nuts to crack, no?

I finally was able to retrieve my Steinbach Limited Edition Lincoln Nutcracker from my downstairs family room, and it is #4608 out of "only" 12,000 produced in 1992. One site is advertising it now for $475. Mine is not for sale.

Since you're not selling I'd be most grateful to accept as a gift.

Perhaps I'll consider you in my will, Anita...
[attachment=2879]Here is a beautiful Lincoln sculpture by Thomas Clark:

Sorry about the pic being sideways. It straightens out when clicked on.
The Lincoln sculpture is quite large and heavy. Anyone else familar with Thomas Clark? He operates in Nirth Carolina, I believe.
Bill, clicking on it does not straighten it out for visitors (non-members) of the forum, so I thought I would rotate it and post it for all to see. Personally, I was not familiar with Thomas Clark, but I looked him up, and I see he's done many "great people in history."
