The current issue of The Lincoln Herald just arrived and has good articles on John Surratt, Jr. by the late-Fr. Isacsson and a review of the Steers/Holzer work on the Hartranft Letterbook.

There is also a unique article (for me) on Lincoln and medical imagery. I will have to read it because I have no idea what the author is talking about -- say medical imagery, and I think of MRIs!
If possible be sure to check out forum member Bill Richter's article in the current Lincoln Herald. The article is entitled "Lincoln's Second Term as President: A Counterfactual Look at Reconstruction Before 1869." Part two will be in the next issue; in that article Bill will attempt to discern what Lincoln might have done had he not been assassinated and lived out his second term.

The Herald usually prints articles that are very favorable to Lincoln. Bill's article, with a somewhat different overall tone, may come as a surprise to many Herald followers.

Bill has many published articles and books. I have read some of them, and at least a few are more negative toward Lincoln than the Herald article. If anything, he held back a little.
Thanks for the mention, Roger, and the short review
