Who is this gentleman?

A young Grover Cleveland during his days as a hangman?
Theodore Roosevelt?
I agree with Gene. It's Teddy R.
Smart guess, Roger, but kudos to Gene and Anita, it is indeed TR!

It's from the Harvard library website, and the cutline says:
"Theodore Roosevelt in a sculling outfit at Harvard around 1877. As a child, Roosevelt suffered from asthma. His father recommended physical activity to build his endurance, and Roosevelt developed a lifelong dedication to exercise."

Gene and Anita, you win an original TR sports outfit to follow suit. This was TR's daily warm-up:

Very nice, too, and sure as effective. I'll add a pair of knee- and ellbow pads to your prize.
Thanks Eva. Gene answered first but I'm happy to accept a prize.

This resembles my warm up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3U8pAM4VXvI
