For those who lived near Springfield, or who would like to make a trip to Springfield, Mary Lincoln's Coterie will hold its annual Memorial Celebrations July 12-14, 2024, in Springfield, IL.
We are in the beginning planning stages for events, so there are not many details at the moment. I will post them as information becomes available.
If you are not familiar with Mary Lincoln's Coterie, please visit our Facebook page to learn more! We are a group of individuals who honor the life of Mary Lincoln and her family. Each year, we gather in Springfield near the anniversary of her death for a memorial service held at the Lincoln Tomb. Wreaths from various organizations are placed inside the tomb. Past events leading up to the wreath ceremony have included lectures, book signings, first-person presentations, candle light vigils, strawberry parties, and tours of various historic sites and museums in Springfield.
If anyone is interested in participating, please feel free to contact me. We are looking for speakers for 2024 and 2025.
