Over the past few weeks I have done something I would have never guessed I could do in a million years. I have been not only designing quilts, but I've actually made some!
This is a Civil War-related design I call "Regiments on Parade." The blocks, from the left, are Jacob's ladder (representing slavery as the cause of the war), Clay's Choice (representing the attempts to avoid war), Mr. Lincoln's Log (representing Lincoln) and Calico Puzzle (not really representing anything....I just liked it). The border is made up of fabric called "Memories of the Civil War."
I'm not ready for any quilt shows, but for someone who as of a month ago had never even touched a sewing machine, I'm pretty pleased.
