I came across this while researching a topic on World War 1. I had never seen this before !

Ditto to the above comments - great article. Just a side note that Sam Houston was a drinking buddy of Junius Brutus Booth, the Elder. There was another man who made up the tipsy trio, but I can't remember who -- maybe Andy Jackson?

Nice to see a mention of General Israel B. Richardson. He is the namesake of my Sons of Union Veterans Camp here in Michigan. Every Memorial Day our Camp holds an observance at his grave in Pontiac, Michigan. Thank you for posting this!
