I read the first one and wasn’t all that impressed.
While I love a good Lincoln fiction every once in a while, this one did not have a lot of Lincoln in it. The author was too intimidated to give him a voice and character and concentrated on other characters instead.
Also, the story seemed to tick off boxes as to what needs to be in a good story these days and made the attempt to please zeitgeist a little too obvious.
Would be interested to hear what others think on the follow-ups.
