For those of us who are very concerned about the ever-increasing lack of discipline in our schools, my daughter just passed this explanation along. It was given by a comedian, but is so true that it is not funny!

The reason for the declining discipline in our schools is:

The teachers are afraid of the principal.
The principal is afraid of the superintendent.
The superintendent is afraid of the school board.
The school board is afraid of the parents
The parents are afraid of their students.
And, the students are not afraid of anyone.
I'm afraid of late night comedians.

I am sooo with you on that, Jerry. Bill O'Reilly isn't the only "commentator" to be wary of. Those who make their political statements in the form of sarcastic jokes are much more dangerous to me.

There is a statement related to Lincoln's death, "Beware The People Weeping." In this day, we should "Beware The People Laughing," imo.

I think a lot of younger people have grown up believing that one is not supposed to engage ideas one disagrees with, given the example of late-night "comedians": one is supposed to mock, ridicule, despise, and scorn those who hold them.

Dangerous, indeed.
