Last night at our local historical society dinner, the CEO of the Susan B Anthony museum told me that in Susan's diary she was blown away by Mary Surratt's hanging! Wow!
Very interesting, Herb! Thank you for posting. I tried to find the text of her diary on the Internet so I could read what she wrote. So far all I could find is small amounts of the diary, and I could not find her Mary Surratt words. If any forum member can find this please post!

It was a short entry Roger.
"Dear Diary, Just heard they hung Mary Surratt with three other male conspirators. When I said I was for equal rights for women, that's not what I had in mind."
Thanks, Gene!
Her diary is at the museum in Rochester,NY.
Thanks Gene,you are the best!
You can just imagine what she might have written about this weeks election.

Dear Diary, Last night me and Lizzie (her ax) went out on the town to protest, where we found a group of young people already hard at it. When I smelled liquor on their breath, I broke out into a fiery speech about prohibition. They answered with rousing cheers, until they realized I wasn't pro alcohol sales, just the opposite. When they saw that fiery look in my eyes (I had run out of visine) and Lizzie, they quickly dispersed. The local law enforcement came over to thank me for my civic mindedness, but suggested next time I should leave Lizzie at home. I told them I had just as much right to carry an ax around with me as any man, like that Paul Bunion fellow. What's this world coming to?
Gene,I agree with your opinion 100%! I am meeting with the CEO of the Susan B.Anthony museum this Thursday.I will tell you more about the total reactions of the election and S-B-Anthony and Mary Surratt's hanging.
Yesterday-the CEO- of the Susan B.Anthony museum gave my wife and I a fantastic tour of this impactful house! There is no new news on how she felt about Mary Surratt's hanging, howevever, she had a longstanding friendship with Fredrick Douglass[also from Rochester,NY]! They used to have tea together in a nearby park!
