Granted this one might be more than a bit hard....or maybe not!
Who IS this man and what role (or rather what character) did he play in an assassination drama/play?

HINT: He played Booth's "sidekick" in a certain presentation - early 1950s -
Like Bill I am lost, too, although I think I recognize the man. I think he was in the old Perry Mason TV series.
You're getting warm, Roger..... very warm!
Let's just say that he's got to be the "ugliest" Herold I've ever seen.....!
Ephrem Zimbalist, Jr., on a really bad day?

The gentleman pictures was in an early TV play (a Desilu production - NOT involving Lucille Ball!) in the early to mid 1950s to 1960s. This production was about Mrs Surratt and featured a famous actress from the silent era of film.
I suspect the actress was Lillian Gish, but I still don't know the man nor the play.

I thought it was Nemoy at first, also...
OK - The play was "The Story of Mary Surratt" - with Dorthy Gish....(Wish I had been old enough to see it!!) The man?
NOT Leonard Nemoy....shall I give you his name? Roger has come closest....
I didn't think that The Story of Mary Surratt ever made it to television? It was a Broadway play by John Patrick (we have a copy of the script at Surratt House), and it only ran for 11 performances in 1947. I do stand corrected that it was Dorothy of the Gish girls, not Lillian.
Desilu produced The Mary Surratt Case in 1956 as part of the Joseph Cotton Hour. Virginia Gregg played Mary in that one, but there were very few supporting actors - none of which I ever heard of. PLEASE, tell us who that weird looking man is/was!!!
