Some of you may have seen this, but if you have not, it's a little frightening for those of us who are good citizens:

Is this what happens after a whole generation is not taught American History (or even Civics) in our schools? Pop-culture is one-click away 24x7!
Frightening - and some of these kids can now vote!!!
What are they teaching in schools now-a-days?

Horrifying, but I see this a lot. Many young people today lack curiosity. Many believe that once they get out of school, their need to learn is completed.

Crazy, isn't it?

Yes- time to start worrying. A recent survey found young people not knowing the details of 9/11. Wow!
Let's be fair.....That was Texas Tech. they were obviously confused thinking it was a trick question. Texas gained it's independence from Mexico in 1836. You could see that answer was on the lips on virtually every student in the survey.

The question about the current Vice President, well I would rather forget that one too.
That's great. "Is that a trick question?" No, do you know the answer? "No.
Typical! Duh!Most students of today do worry me!
And we wonder why our public educational system has slipped behind so many other countries in the world? Can one expect these folks and others like them to make an informed intelligent choice in the next national election?
Don't be to hard on them. Half the people out there are of below average intelligence. Rolleyes
A statue of Columbus in Detroit was defaced yesterday. It's head appears to have a hatchet in it with blood streaming down. Another example that we are well into the "time to start worrying" I would say.
