There's a list of 10 dumb things to ask, one of them being "why don't people name their boys Adolf anymore?"

But on the other end of the ethics spectrum is Abraham Lincoln and it is curious that it is an "old fashioned" name that has not had a revival. But come to think of it I can cite very few other Abrahams ever: Fortas and, I think, the current head of the ADL

Is Abraham Lincoln so revered that it would seem presumptuous to name a mere infant after him? Even his tragically short-lived grandson went by "Jack." Or perhaps it just has too many syllables.

(Moses, Isaac, Ishmael seem to have been retired too--maybe it's a patriarch thing.)
My grandfather's middle name was "Lincoln". He was born early in the 20th century and was named for the 16th president.
There is a gentleman in our community named Lincoln. He is the only man I know with the name. For some reason, the name Lincoln has become a popular name for little girls in the mid-west. I have met several young ladies with the name. Kennedy is also becoming a popular name for little girls. However, I have not yet heard of anyone naming their daughter Kennedy Lincoln or Lincoln Kennedy. With a name such as that, perhaps the lady would be destined for politics.

Madison and even Chase have become relatively popular for girls too.

Or, unfortunately, assassination?! Sad

One of my best friends gave one of his sons the first name Lincoln, after the 16th President.
Looking back now, I would have loved to have named one of my sons "Lincoln." This did not happen. Now in my later years I've named our newest puppy "Lincoln." Oh well...
The great artist Gutzon Borglum named his son Lincoln. In fact, his son finished what is probably considered his greatest work. Gutzon died before it was completed. What masterpiece am I referring to?

Hi Bill. Mount Rushmore. (Thank you to Eva who once asked a trivia question about Gutzon Borglum.)
Absolutely correct Roger. Borglum also created the Lincoln bust in front of the Lincoln Tomb- the one that tourists love to rub on Lincoln's nose.
