Thomas Lincoln?
I am sorry, Anita, but it wasn't Lincoln. It was his father. Well done, Eva.

The prize vault is really low right now, Eva, so I will simply send cash.
If there's only one of these left in the vault

you'll make me a lucky winner (I have a 5 $ bill, but no $ cent).
Who is this gentleman?
[attachment=411]
Tom Taylor.
Brilliant, Roger! I thought Tom Taylor was worth another try...

Will this gentleman challenge you all a little more?

Pope Pius IX

The hat reminded me of "The Flying Nun" so I took a chance and googled images of Pius since he was the pope during the Civil War.
Excellent, Dave! Well, was another try... and I'm afraid I don't even have any divine prizes today!
Do you know him ?

Might be an actor. Joseph Jefferson?
Hi Craig,

Yes he's an actor but not Joseph Jefferson.

Hint # 1 This actor started out as a wholesale grocer.
I'll ask since everyone is thinking it, was he playing the part of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer? Smile
James Hackett!
Darn, Craig got it first. It is James Hackett, who was famous for playing Falstaff (hence the costume).
Excellent Craig, it is indeed James H Hackett. He was one of Lincoln's favorite actors.

Your prize is this link which looks at the letters between Lincoln and Hackett. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMK4FfkdA9c

Laurie you identified Falstaff, so you can also check out the link.
