A replacement statue of Lincoln was dedicated in the same town, Wilkinsburg PA (a suburb of Pittsburgh not far from where I live), this morning.

‘Forever Free’: New Abraham Lincoln statue unveiled in Wilkinsburg

Apparently, it had been inside the borough building for a few months.

Thanks for the update. This replacement looks more like Lincoln. It was good to read about a statue of Lincoln being dedicated during these difficult times for statues in general.
Excellent!
I second Anita and Bill. Thanks for posting, Lane.
You're welcome. Smile
Dave Wiegers, a member of this discussion forum (although he hasn't posted much), spoke at the dedication event. I spoke with him shortly afterward the said it was a really enjoyable day.
I’ve known Dave for years. I miss him as we were active as FB friends but I quit FB two years ago. Glad to hear he is still at it!
Dave is definitely still at it! He and I are working on a project that we hope we will have in shape to share publicly this fall or winter....

Such suspense, I know! Smile
Will you please tell him that him that Bill Nash is still alive and well? Lol.

Smile I will definitely let him know Bill!!
He has a truly great online website featuring Lincoln statues.
This sounds interesting - an event at Books on the Square in Springfield, IL on May 14th.
You may guess from the title of this thread it probably has something to do with Lincoln Statues Around the World

Gene, this is very exciting news! How will we be able to access this amazing map described in the link? "This presentation, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Washington D.C.’s Lincoln Memorial, will feature a biography of Lincoln as expressed through sculpture and will unveil a new, one of a kind, online map showcasing more than 300 Lincoln sculptures in the U.S. and around the world.”

I had such a wonderful time exploring Books On The Square on a Springfield tour gilded by you and Joe DiCola. I also recall meeting Scott at a group breakfast. He was working on locating and mapping burial sites. Are you considering putting together another tour this year?

Yes, but I have no idea when.
I have rejoined FaceBook and became friends with Dave again. If anyone on the Forum wants to be FB friends with me just look for Bill Nash. Not hard to find.
