Who, in a fit of rage tore the roof off Tudor Hall?
The carpenter, James Gifford, when he didn't get paid?
You got it Laurie. Gifford did not get paid for his work on Tudor Hall which eventually caused him to lose his own house to creditors. He got angry and ripped off Tudor Hall's tin roof.
Thanks, Joe B for letting me steal your answer.
