Donation to?
An Indian nation donated $170. Lincoln donated $10.

To what?

RE: Donation to?

Congratulations , Rogerm! Yes, the Irish Famine (also known as the Great Hunger)

The amount that Queen Victoria donated is not certain. In fact it is said that initially she was going to make it £1,000 to the British Relief Association but the British Relief Association's secretary considered it insufficient and communicated this to the Queen. In response, she increased her donation to £2,000.

Apparently, there is documentation that the Sultan of Turkey, who was himself a very young man at the time, offered to give £10,000 but in Constantinople, the British embassy went to his people to say that it would offend royal protocol so he reduced his donation.
